Grandmaster Raymond M. K. Choy IX - Master of Masters

Grandmaster Raymond M. K. Choy IX "MASTER OF MASTERS"

Testimonial by Mr. Martin Williams I 'iL' Dan B.U.T.F.

The advert that started it all was in a strange little shop called "The Bungalow Stores" which sat at the end of our road. It was a yellow card tucked far in the corner of the notice board, there was a figure performing some athletic move which was not really discernable, the card suggested that all were welcome at St Johns Church Hall, Hillingdon.

I of course did not have the nerve to call but my wife did, something to do with getting me out in the evening, and she said the chap sounded quite nice. When I arrived at the Hall someone told me to sit in the corner and wait till the break; it all looked quite easy, a few sit ups and the odd punch. When the break came I and another chap was called into what turned out to be the kitchen of the church hall and sitting at a table framed by a large sink was my first meeting with who turned out to be Master Choy. So began what is now nearly 25 years, with the odd break, of training under Master Choy.

Despite the stresses and strains of a demanding job, bringing up children and all the other pressures I have always wanted to come back to Tae Kwon Do which is, as far as I am concerned, Master Choy.

Congratulations on your deserved promotion to Grandmaster.
